Submission policies
- Submissions are open to any individuals with anAmerican University of Sharjah (AUS) email address.
- By submitting their work to be posted on the AUS Repository, the author(s) or copyright owners agree to the Non-Exclusive Distribution License.
- Individuals who submit their work to the AUS Repository represent that the submission is their original work and that they have the right to grant the rights contained in the Non-Exclusive Distribution License. They also represent that the submission does not, to the best of their knowledge, infringe upon anyone's copyright.

What can you submit to AUS Repository
- Journal articles
- Book chapters
- Conference presentations
- Any research output (Posters, Working papers, Audio-visual files, Patents, Artworks, etc.)
How to submit your publication to AUS Repository
- Check SHERPA/RoMEO or the publisher’s website to verify which version of the paper you are legally able to upload.
- Go to AUS Repository
- Click on the account icon (upper right corner of page)
- Log in with your AUS Account
- Click on the account icon (upper right corner of page)
- Click “MyDSpace”
- Click “+ Start Submission”
- If you have a DOI or other identifier (e.g. arXiv number):
- Select “Import metadata from external source”
- Paste the DOI (e.g. “10.1016/bs.amb.2020.07.001”). Note: this works best if you do not include the full DOI URL. Just enter the part of the DOI after “https://doi.org/”
- Click “Search”
- Select the source for the metadata. (We find Scopus works best when searching a DOI)
- Click the download icon
- Click “Start submission”
- Select the “Self-submissions” collection
- If you don’t have a DOI:
- Select “Start submission from scratch”
- Select the “Self-submissions” collection
- Fill out the submission form
- Upload the version of the article / manuscript (box at the top of the screen)
- Confirm the Non-Exclusive Distribution License
- Click “+ Deposit”
A librarian will review your submission. We will contact you if we need further information.
Alternatively, you are welcome to contact your liaison librarian or email repository@aus.edu and request that we add your publication.
