Abstract
Aiming to promote green technology and reduce the CO2 footprint on the atmosphere, many transportation systems are adopting the use of electric vehicles that utilize electrical, rather than chemical, energy to generate the mechanical energy required for car motion. The practical implementation of electricity-based transportation is hindered by the need to pre-charge the electric vehicles before starting the journey, therefore limiting the travel range of the vehicle to the amount of charge initially stored in its battery. Three solutions are proposed to internally generate electric energy within the body of electric vehicles, thereby allowing on-road charging of those vehicles.
